I withdrew from Western States 2018, as I was still building strength and fitness required to race 100 miles following my surgery. I was happy to give my spot to a runner on the wait list, who was able to compete for the first time at the race.

This would have been my fourth time back to this storied race! I was shooting for a third consecutive top 10 finish and a podium spot. 2016 -> 9th place, 2017 -> 5th place. I will be back in 2019!
