Chris started running later in life after a major illness made him realize that life is too short to not seek adventure and pursue your dreams. Initially starting with marathons, he worked his way up to ultra distance event and in 2015 burst on the national ultrarunning scene with podium finishes at several competitive races and USATF National Championships. Since then, he has racked up wins at the American River 50 mile, Squamish 50/50 and back to back top 10 finish at the Western States 100 mile. Chris is driven by a passion for challenge and love of nature. He races all terrains, all distances and is always looking for a new adventure. He has a MD and a PhD and is currently training at Stanford Medical Center as Sport Medicine Radiologist.
